2. select the proper valve type:
In order to choose the right type of valve, the engineer or the designer should grasp the entire product process and operation conditions, when selecting what kind of valves should be used, the designer should first grasp the structure characteristics and performance of each type of valve.
3. determine the end connect type of the valve:
There are threaded end connect, flange end connect and welded end connect, among these end connections, the threaded and flange connections are widely used. Threaded connection is mainly for valves with nominal diameter under 50mm. If the nominal diameter of the valve is large, it will be difficult to install and seal for the connect part. For flange end connect valves, it will be easy to install ad disassemble, but compared with threaded connect valves, flange connect valve is more heavier, and has higher price, so flange end connect valve is suitable for all nominal diameters and pressure valves.
Welded end connect valves are suitable for harsher working condition, and are more reliable than flange end connect valves. However, it is difficult for welded end connect valves to disassemble and re-install. So usually the welded end connect valves are limited to the occasions where it needs run reliably for a long time, or where the working condition are severe, or the working temperature is high.
4. what kind of material should be selected for the valves:
When selecting the material of the valve body, internal parts and sealing surface, in addition to considering the physical properties(temperature, pressure) and chemical properties(corrosive) of the working medium, the cleanliness of the medium(with or without solid particles) should also be grasped. In addition, it is necessary to refer to the relevant regulations of the country and the relevant department. Correct and reasonable selection of valve material can obtain the most economical service life and best performance of the valves.
The selection sequence of valve body material is: cast iron-carbon steel-stainless steel, the selection sequence of sealing ring material is: rubber-brass-alloy steel-F4.
5. Others:
In addition, the flow rate and pressure level of the fluid flowing through the valve should also be determined, and the appropriate valve should be selected according to the existing data( such as valves product catalogs, valves product samples,etc).
