Butterfly valve, also known as flap valve, is a kind of regulating valve with simple structure. Butterfly valve that can be used for on-off control of low pressure pipeline medium means that the closing part(the valve disc or butterfly plate) is a disc, which rotates around the valve shaft to achieve opening and closing of the butterfly valve. Butterfly valve can be used to control the flow of various types of fluids such as air, water, steam, various corrosive mediums, mud, oil, liquid metal and radioactive medium. Butterfly valve mainly plays the role of cutting and throttling on the pipeline. The opening and closing part of the butterfly valve is a disc-shaped plate, which rotates around its own axis in the valve body to achieve the purpose of opening, closing and adjustment.Â
according to driving methods, butterfly valve can be divided into four types: manual driving butterfly valve, electric butterfly valve, pneumatic butterfly valve, hydraulic butterfly valve; today we are going to talk about that four driving methods of the butterfly valves:Â
1. Manual driving: some butterfly valves are operated with the help of hand-wheel, handle, lever or chain wheel, and driven by manpower, and when the transmitting torque is large, the butterfly valve will be equipped with deceleration devices such as worm gear, gear and chain. (the code for worm gear transmission is 3, the code for bevel gear transmission is 5, the spur gear transmission code is 4);Â
2. Electric driving: electric butterfly valves means those butterfly valves are driven by a motor or other electric device;Â
3. Pneumatic driving: pneumatic butterfly valves means those butterfly valves are driven by compressed air;Â
4. Hydraulic driving: hydraulic butterfly valves means those butterfly valves are driven by water or oils.Â
With different working conditions, butterfly valve can use different driving method, you can choose the proper butterfly valves according to your real requirements.
