What is a ball type check valve? 

Ball type check valve is a combination of the ball valve and check valve. It consists of a valve cover, a rubber ball, a cone and other parts. The ball type check valve’s working principle is to use the rubber ball to roll in a short stroke in the ball cover to realize the opening and closing of the check valve, thereby, which can realize the anti-reverse flow effect of the check valve. The ball check valve has advantage of small resistance coefficient, good shock absorption effect, small damage to the pipeline, wear resistance, and convenience for installation. But it also has the disadvantage of large size. 

1. The advantage of ball type check valve: 

1.1. the rubber ball of the ball check valve is made of hollow steel ball, which is covered with good elasticity rubber, to ensure the sealing effect, and reduce the damage to the pipeline system during the check valve closing process. 

1.2. Inside the ball type check valve, because the opening and closing part is in spherical shape, the water flow passes through the valve body almost straight, the resistance coefficient is small, and it is energy saving, and the water flow resistance coefficient is stable and small, which can reduce the hydraulic loss caused by the trembling of the rubber ball in the check valve. 

1.3. Another advantage of the ball check valve is that it has a good shock absorption effect and does not require high water quality. 

1.4. The ball check valve has no rotating parts of the shaft and the sleeve, and there is no wear of the shaft and the sleeve. The rubber ball is in a state of free suspension and free rotation, and the wear is even. In addition, the diameter of the rubber ball is 1.3 times the diameter of the valve seat. Even if the rubber ball wears a layer, it still has good sealing performance and wear resistance. 

1.5. The ball type check valve has good noise reduction and shock absorption, good slow closing effect, and can reduce water hammering. 

1.6. The ball check valve is easy to install. The specific gravity of the ball is close to that of the water, and it is in a free suspension state, so it can be installed horizontally or vertically. 

2. The disadvantage of ball type check valve: 

The main disadvantage of ball type check valve is that its size is relatively large. It requires a large installation space.
