What are butterfly valve used for?-Belo Valve

Butterfly valve, also known as butterfly flap valve, butterfly type valve, is one kind of regulating industrial valve with simple structure. The butterfly valve which is used for the on-off control of low pressure pipeline medium refers to a industrial valve whose closing part is a disc, which rotates around the valve shaft to achieve opening and closing of the valve. 

Butterfly valve can be used to control the flow of various types of fluids such as air, water, steam, various corrosive mediums, mud, oil, liquid meta and radioactive mediums. Butterfly valve plays the role of cutting and throttling on the pipeline. The opening and closing item in butterfly valve is a disc-shaped butterfly plate, which rotates around its own axis in the valve body to achieve the purpose of opening, closing or adjustment; 

what are the types of butterfly valves:

According to structure, butterfly valve has concentric butterfly valve/center line butterfly valve, eccentric butterfly valve.

Now lets go to where the butterfly valves are used: 

Butterfly valves are suitable for flow regulation. Since the pressure loss of the butterfly valve in the pipeline is relatively large, the firmness of the butterfly plate to withstand the pressure of the pipeline medium should also be considered when the butterfly valve is closing. In addition, the operating temperature limitations of resilient seat material at elevated temperatures must be also be considered. The structure length and overall height of the butterfly valve are small, the opening and closing speed is fast, and butterfly valve has good fluid control characteristics. The structure principle of the butterfly valve is most suitable for making large diameter valves; when the butterfly valve is required to be used for flow control,the most important thing is to correctly select the size and type of the butterfly valve, so that it can work properly and effectively; 

Generally, in throttling, regulating control pipeline and pipeline with mud medium, short structure length and fast opening and closing speed(1/4 turn) are required. Used to cut off in low pressure condition(small differential pressure), butterfly valve is recommended; 

Butterfly valve can be used for two-position adjustment, narrowed channel, low noise, cavitation and gasification, a small amount of leakage to the atmosphere, and abrasive mediums; 

When the butterfly valve is used for throttling adjustment under special working conditions, or conditions requiring strict sealing, condition with serious wear, low temperature, and other working conditions, it is necessary to use a specially designed metal sealing triple eccentric or double eccentric butterfly valve with adjustment device; 

Butterfly valve is suitable for fresh, water, sewage, sea water, salt water, steam, natural gas, food, medicine, oil and various acid-base and other pipelines which require complete zero-leakage, zero leakage in gas testing, long service life, and working temperature is -10℃-150℃。 

Soft sealed eccentric butterfly valve is suitable for two-way opening and closing and adjustment of ventilation and dust removal pipelines, and is widely used in gas pipelines, waterways of metallurgy, light industry, electric power, and petrochemical systems; 

Metal-to-metal sealed double eccentric butterfly valve is suitable for urban heating, gas supply, water supply and other gas, oil, acid and alkali pipelines, as a regulating and throttling device; 

In addition to be used as program control valve for a large pressure swing adsorption(PSA) gas separation device, the metal-to-metal sealing triple eccentric butterfly valve can be also be widely used in petroleum, petrochemical, chemical, metallurgy, electric power, and other fields, which is one great replace product for gate valves and globe valves;
