Globe valve,also known as stop valve, cut-off valve, is a forced sealing industrial valve, so when the globe valve is closed, some pressure should be applied to the valve disc to force the sealing surface not to leak. 

When the media enters the valve body from the bottom of the disc, the resistance that the operating force needs to overcome is the friction between the valve stem and packing and the thrust generated by the pressure of the medium. The force to close the globe valve is greater than the force to open the globe valve, so the diameter of valve stem of the globe valve must be larger, otherwise the valve stem may be bent.

Working principle of cast iron globe valve: 

Various industrial valves are playing an important role in cutting off and throttling the medium in the pipeline. The disc of the cast iron globe valve exerts pressure to make the sealing surface of the disc closely fit with the sealing surface of the valve seat of the cast iron globe valve, preventing the medium from leaking along the gap between the sealing surface. 

The sealing pair of the cast iron globe valve is composed of the sealing surface of the disc and the sealing surface of the valve seat. The valve disc of the cast iron globe valve is driven by the valve stem to move vertically along the center line of the valve seat.
