How to install lug type butterfly valve?-Belo Valve

Wafer type lug butterfly valve uses stud bolts to connect the butterfly valve between two pipeline flanges. Wafer type lug butterfly valve is simple, small in size, light in weight, and only consists of a few parts. And it only needs to rotate 90° to open and close quickly, the operation of lug butterfly valve is simple and the lug butterfly valve has good fluid control characteristics. When the lug type butterfly valve is in the fully open position, the thickness of the butterfly plate is the only resistance when the medium flows through the valve body, so the pressure drop generated by the lug type butterfly valve is very small, that’s why lug butterfly valve has better flow control characteristics. Lug type butterfly valve has two types of seals: resilient sealing lug type butterfly valve and metal hard sealing butterfly valve. For resilient sealing lug butterfly valve, the sealing ring can be inlaid on the valve body or attached to the periphery of the valve disc.

Lug type butterfly valves are widely used in SO2, steam, CO2 gas, oil, water, brine, lye, seawater, nitric acid, hydrochloric acid in chemical, smelting, pharmaceutical, food and other industries, sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid and other medium pipelines, which are used as adjustment and shut off devices. 

Installation guides for lug type butterfly valve:

The installation method of the lug type butterfly valve is different according to the drilling method of the lug type butterfly valve. The common drilling method of lug type butterfly valve include all through holes, all threaded holes, or four upper and lower threaded holes, and the other are through holes. 

Installation for lug type butterfly valve with all through holes: 

The pressure holes of the lug type butterfly valves only play a positioning role. When installing, a long bolt is used to pass through one end of the flange, the hole on the lug type butterfly valve and go out from the flange on the other side, then the two ends are fixed and tightened with nuts, and the rest of the pressure holes on the lug butterfly valve are installed as above; 

How to install a lug type butterfly valve with all threaded holes: 

For the pressure holes on the lug type butterfly valve are threaded, they are working like a large nut. When installing, only a short bolt is required, make that short bolt passing through one end of the flange, and screwing the bolts directly into the hole of the lug butterfly valve,use another bolt to screw into that threaded hole from the other side. Then install the other holes the same way as above;
