What does wafer check valve mean? 

Wafer check valve is a kind of check valve, which belongs to automatic valve, and is often used in the water supply and drainage pipeline system. This wafer check valve can open and close the valve door correspondingly according to the changes of the fluid medium in the pipeline system, so as to avoid the phenomenon of reverse flow in the pipeline. 

How does wafer check valve work? 

Different from other check valves, the disc of the wafer check valve is divided into two parts, which are hinged in the middle by the valve shaft and the spring ring, so that the two discs can only swing in one direction, and the discs are pressed on the valve seat by the spring. The wafer check valve only allows the fluid medium in the pipeline to flow in one direction, and the two discs can only be opened in one direction. 

When the fluid medium in the pipeline moves, the fluid medium will generate a thrust, which pushes the two discs of the wafer type check valve and opens the check valve, the medium flows through smoothly. When the medium in the pipelines stops moving, or is in a stopped state, the two plates are closed under the combined force of their own weight and the kneading force of the spring. When the valve plates are closed, and the medium in the pipeline flows backwards, under the reversed thrust of the back-flow medium plus the weight of the valve disc itself, the valve discs will be tightly kneaded to fit on the sealing surface, to prevent the medium’s back flow.
